Linklaters Spin-off in Germany: Four Senior Lawyers to launch as LMPS Rechtsanwälte
On 1 August 2020, the corporate boutique LMPS Rechtsanwälte will open up in Düsseldorf. The newly founded law firm will focus on corporate/M&A, compliance and litigation matters offering their services to both internationally and nationally acting companies as well as family businesses, financial investors, investment companies and board members.
The four founding partners Dr Carl Friedrich von Laer, LL.M. (Essex) (38), Dr Daniel Meyer, LL.M. (Berkeley), EMBA (41), Dr Carsten A Paul, LL.M. (London) (43) and Dr Hubertus A Stuttmann (36) are sharing their broad experience gained at magic circle firm Linklaters LLP: Carl von Laer and Hubertus Stuttmann worked for many years for the corporate partners Dr Tim Johannsen-Roth and Staffan Illert. In the meantime, Hubertus Stuttmann completed a secondment at Linklaters’ Lisbon office and has since been admitted to the bar in Portugal as well. Carsten Paul and Daniel Meyer joined Linklaters in 2008 and 2010 respectively, working for corporate partner Prof Dr Hans-Ulrich Wilsing.
The founding partners have extensive experience in advising on both national and international matters. With their focus on corporate/M&A, compliance and litigation, the founders are transferring their previous areas of practice in corporate and capital markets law, private and public M&A, compliance including D&O liability as well as corporate and commercial litigation to the newly established entity. “We are pleased to continue offering our clients the highest quality of advice under our own flag. The strong demand in the market for highly efficient, partner-centred units has lately been further strengthened by the Corona crisis,” the founding partners of LMPS said.
