The particular focus of Carlo von Laer’s practice is providing corporate law advice to companies of all sizes in connection with national and international corporate transactions. This includes public takeovers and corporate restructurings as well as advising companies, family businesses and groups of companies on all matters of corporate law, including stock corporation and capital market law, corporate governance and compliance issues.
Prior to founding LMPS Rechtsanwälte in summer 2020, Carlo worked as a lawyer in the Corporate/M&A department of the international law firm Linklaters. He studied with a focus on commercial law at the University of Münster, where he subsequently obtained his doctorate on a topic at the interface of competition, antitrust and social law. He also worked as a research assistant at the law firm Hengeler Mueller. He completed his subsequent legal clerkship in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Hamm with, among others, stages at Linklaters in Düsseldorf and New York.
Before starting his career as a lawyer, Carlo lived in England for a longer time, where he completed a Master of Laws in European Business Law at the University of Essex. Since 2013 he has been admitted to the bar in Düsseldorf.
Carlo von Laer is married and has three children.
