Carsten A. Paul advises in all matters of corporate law with a special focus on corporate governance, stock corporation law, group of companies and capital market law. He has many years of experience in the preparation and support of public annual shareholders’ meetings, post-merger integration, advice to management and supervisory boards including compliance and directors’ liability issues as well as internal investigations.
Until the establishment of LMPS Rechtsanwälte in summer 2020, Carsten had been working as a lawyer in the Corporate/M&A department of the international law firm Linklaters in Düsseldorf and Frankfurt since 2008. He studied in Münster, Sheffield and London. After two years of academic work at the Institute for International Business Law at the University of Münster, he received his doctorate there with a topic on transformation and takeover law. He completed his legal clerkship in the district of the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court with stations at Linklaters in Cologne and Hong Kong, among others.
Carsten regularly publishes articles in leading professional journals on current issues of corporate and capital market law. He is author in Beck’s Handbook of Stock Corporations (Beck’sches Handbuch der AG) and the Henssler/Strohn and Heidel commentaries on corporate and stock corporation law. He is also a lecturer at the University of Münster (stock corporation law).
Carsten is married and has one daughter.
